Sedation Information

Occasionally, a patient may become anxious and cannot relax. As many as 30% of adults in America are afraid of needles. Sedation dentistry offers these patients, a safe and effective alternative for Root Canal Treatment.

Oral Sedation allows the patient to relax and/or become very sleepy. It minimizes movement during the dental procedure as well. Oral Sedation dentistry allows those patients who might avoid dental procedures a safe and anxiety free alternative. Dr. Parks and his team know that your phobia is very real and we want to help you overcome it.

Who should undergo Sedation?

There are a number of reasons individuals may be fearful of the dentist or may experience anxiety during dental appointments. If your anxieties or fears are so great that you have avoided dental care in the past, you may be a candidate for sedation. However, patients who only experience mild anxiety may also recieve this treatment.

Some reasons patients underdo sedation include: fear of needles, fear of pain or discomfort, a bad experience with another dentist, general anxiety, to control gag reflex, lengthy or extensive dental treatments completed in one visit, and fear of the unknown.

If you are hesitant in scheduling your next visit, consider Oral Sedation Dentistry.

We will put your mind at ease.
